Yes, June is long gone and Pride month is over. However, we are allies year-round. We are sheer believers that support for the LGBTQIAP+ community should be all the time and not just thirty days out of the year. When Sam Baker, our founder, started Male Power he was inspired by the uprising of the Stonewall riots, realizing the importance of offering the oppressed a way to discreetly express themselves. Upon starting the company, he knew that it would be many years before anyone could do so publicly. Equal rights have come a long way since then, but still has a very long way to go. We believe that to continue to make strides for the LGBTQIAP+ community, there must be education backing the movement.

In 2019, Male Power was able to openly celebrate Pride at the Parade in NY, and now it’s time to expand our support. Which is why we are introducing our #BeyondPride movement. To celebrate and give back to the community, Male Power will be donating proceeds of every sale during the entire thirty-one days of August to support The Pride Foundation. With your help, The Pride Foundation can continue to do what they do best, and that is to educate. The Pride Foundation’s vision, is the belief that every person should be able to live safely, openly, and genuinely in all the places we call home. This coincides directly with our belief that you should never hide your pride, and this is where The Peacock Challenge comes in!

As Solange Nicole once said, “Pride has to resonate from within; shine out to everyone around you. It has to mean something to you and only you first before you announce it to the world.”

This resonates with us, as we too believe that your pride should come from within. We have all seen a peacock one way or another, whether it be on television, in photos, or even in person, but what is the first thing you notice? That beautiful, flashy, vibrant colored train is what sticks out in our heads when we think of a peacock, and we believe this fully embodies how we feel about pride.

Originating from the peacock, the term “Peacocking” can be seen as wearing something flashy, eye-catching, yet still embodying who you are. That’s the whole point of peacocking: to stand out in a sea of others, while still being your beautiful self. Now, we know that not everyone is comfortable flaunting their assets in the public eye – we wish we had as much confidence as our sexy model does!

The Peacock challenge is us daring YOU to wear your underwear over your clothes in a public space! All you have to do is is take a picture or video of you wearing your sexy underwear over your clothes doing whatever: walking, cycling, shopping etc.; the more creative the better! Our goal here is to show the opposite of silent confidence, showing off what you’re wearing underneath on top of all of your clothes, just like a peacock shows off its vibrant train. We kicked off The Peacock Challenge at NYC’s Pride, and and even gave out free underwear.

Going #BeyondPride we challenge you to do The Peacock Challenge, the rules are simple:

  1. Get fully dressed.
  2. Pick out your favorite pair of sexy underwear.
  3. Wear the underwear over your clothes.
  4. Take a photo or video of you showing your pride and “peacocking” in public.
  5. Tag the post with the hashtags: #donthideyourpride and #peacockchallenge
  6. Tag & Follow @malepower_underwear

That’s it! Don’t hide your pride, make sure to put it on full display even after the month of Pride. Let’s make a change and honor the community all year long, starting with August. Will you participate in The Peacock Challenge? Leave a comment below if you’re going to!

  1. Nice blog… Male thong underwear looks and feels great. The man thong is underwear that covers the front and provides that protection and support while leaving you completely free and exposed in the back. Recently, I purchased the underwear from *******. They have a huge collection of male thong underwear.
